Glendale, California: Tell Sister City, Gimpo, South Korea, That We’re Opposed to the Torture and Consumption of Dogs and Cats.
In the past, we requested the city of Glendale, California, to support our campaign by contacting the Mayor of their Sister City, Gimpo. In response, the mayors of Glendale raised our concerns with Gimpo. We appreciate Glendale for taking action and supporting our campaign.
But, in response, Gimpo Mayor’s office has done nothing more than to give Glendale the ‘standard’ assurance that their country’s animal protection laws, etc., are being adhered to. We know that this is not the case!
Today, tens of thousands of dogs are imprisoned in their horrific dog farms and dog slaughterhouses, living the life of utter misery and agony.
Click HERE for the dog farms/slaughterhouses in Gimpo. We cannot stand by while the city of Gimpo continues to deceive us and inflict unimaginable cruelty to the animals who consider humans as guardians and companions.
We are now asking Glendale to continue their previous contacts by urging Gimpo to stop the dog/cat meat industry in their city — an illegal and brutal industry that does not adhere to their animal protection laws.

It had an awful feeling being in the saddle of a mountain with about 10 dog farms in the same area, most with tall steel fences, so you cannot see the atrocities inside and everyone watching you as you drive in and out. A Search Engine reveals the sickening scale of Gimpo’s dog meat demand.
Two searches on Naver (the most popular search engine in Korea) — one was for so-called “Health Centers” which commonly sell dog elixirs and cat elixirs (also known as dog soju and cat soju) and the second one was for “dog meat restaurants” — resulted in many dozens of “Health Centers” and dog meat restaurants in the vicinity of Gimpo.
Even if half of these ‘Health’ Food Centers and restaurants serve dog and cat ‘ingredients’ in one form or another, just imagine how many dog/cat farms and slaughterhouses must be present in the vicinity of Gimpo to supply all of these outlets.
