Remember Sori? Chained her entire life guarding a farm, she endured agonizing wildfire burns. Denied comfort or medical aid, her owner heartlessly moved her to another orchard, forcing her back to guard with a fresh chain around her festering wounds. Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE) posted an update about her. 👉 For Sori’s previous story, click HERE.

Sori: A Beacon of Hope Amidst the Flames

In the devastating wildfires in Gyeongsangbuk Province, we witnessed an incredible miracle. Just as our team was preparing to withdraw after rescuing numerous dogs, many suffering from severe burns, Sori was miraculously discovered. Our citizen search team, acting on a powerful hunch to take “just one more look,” found her.

Sori was tied in the middle of a remote field, a place no one else would have entered. Her back and legs were severely burned, her fur singed and matted, as she endured unimaginable pain. Yet, from that tiny body, a sound of hope emerged — a cry that never gave up. It was this unwavering will to live that led CARE to her.

Heartbreakingly, Sori’s owner merely cut off her melted collar and replaced it with a new one, complete with an iron chain. Sori was left untreated, abandoned to her agony. Had she not been rescued, she might not have survived much longer. Despite everything, she persevered alone, ultimately crying out and fighting to survive.

After completing her burn and heartworm treatment at the hospital, Sori arrived at CARE’s shelter. It is striking how quiet she is now, especially considering how desperately she cried out for attention during her rescue. Did Sori know? Did she understand that our hands were reaching out to help her? Perhaps she is quietly telling us now that she can finally rest easy.

Sori is now urgently waiting for a compassionate temporary foster home. With traces of her burns still present, the shelter’s dirt floor is not ideal for her healing. A safe and warm space is desperately needed for her recovery.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Lee Seong-jun Animal Hospital in Anseong, who fully supported Sori’s treatment. CARE was honored to present them with a plaque of appreciation for their vital assistance.

Please consider donating to support Sori until she finds her loving forever home.
